Petition to save 57th Street automat structure

Call for signatures! Preservationists are rallying to save one of the last remaining Horn & Hardart automat structures in New York City. The building at 104 W. 57th Street (near Sixth Avenue), most recently occupied by Shelly's restaurant, is in imminent danger of demolition. To help encourage the Landmarks Preservation Commission to schedule a public hearing to consider protecting it as an official landmark, please click on the link below and sign the online petition.

The only other surviving H&H automat building in New York is on Broadway and West 104th Street. LANDMARK WEST! has for many years had this building on our "wish list" of unprotected, but landmark-worthy sites on the Upper West Side (the list is regularly submitted to the Landmarks Commission for its consideration). Once you sign the petition for the 57th Street automat, please email
landmarkwest@landmarkwest.org and let us know if you're interested in being kept up-to-date on our "wish list" efforts. Many thanks.
